Paul Klee
"Urban Perspectve" 1928
"Ad Parnassum" 1932
Believed to be influenced by a trip to Egypt.
I really enjoy the work of Paul Klee. He was born in Switzerland and lived from 1879-1940. His first solo exhibition was in 1910. And his style ranged from expressionism, cubism, and surrealism. He was a master of color theory and taught at Bauhaus from 1921-1931. Both him and his wife were artist and used precision in his work. He believed that his inner truth, his innner vision, was revealed not only in the subject, the color and the shapes as defined entities, but even more in the very process of creation.
"Magic Squares"
"Colour has taken possession of me; no longer do I have to chase after it, I know that it has hold of me forever... Colour and I are one. I am a painter."
COLOR WAS ENERGY.
The Power to See.
"SeparaciĆ³n Vespertina" 1922
